Tensions rise at Thai-Cambodian border after landmine blast prompts checkpoint closures and security buildup

Following a landmine incident on the Thai-Cambodian border, Thailand has implemented heightened security measures, including the closure of border checkpoints and temples.
Lieutenant General Boonsin Padklang,

Commander of the 2nd Army Area, ordered the closure of Ta Muen Thom and Ta Khwai Temples, along with the Chong Chom, Chong Sai Taku, Chong An Ma, and Chong Sa-ngam border checkpoints, according to Thai media reports. This response comes after a Thai soldier, Sergeant Phichitchai Boonkorat, lost his leg to a landmine explosion in the Huai Bon area at Chong An Ma, Nam Yuen District, Ubon Ratchathani Province
